A Compendium of Amsterdam 2000. “Why Did So Many Come Here?” Billy Graham asked this question in his opening message to the more than 11,000 Conference participant. And he gave his own answer: “You are gathered in Amsterdam from over 200 countries. Some of you have traveled thousands of miles and at great sacrifice. Why are you all in this beautiful city? What is the purpose of all the planning, the work, the travel, the price we have paid? We have come togeter to discover how the evangelical Church worldwide can further the Kingdom of God by the proclamation of the Gospel. To this end we will commit ourselves during the entire Conference.”
