The Christian Life has been described as a race,not a sprint, but more like a marathon !
The Bible describes the Christian life in manyways. Christians are described as :
• sheep (Luke 15, John 10)
• children (1 John)
• soldiers (Ephesians 6)
• farmers (2 Timothy 2, 1 Corinthians 3)
• living stones (1 Peter 2)
• and athletes.
In fact, the apostle Paul uses different types ofsports to describe the Christian life; as an athlete;a boxer (1 Corinthians 9, 1 Timothy 6:12, 2 Timothy4:7), as one who is wrestling (Ephesians 6:12), andone of the most common is that of a runner.
Thisbook describes the Race that every Christian is inand encourages us to run for the prize !
