Inner Healing (or Healing of the Memories) is a forrn of prayer counselling which seeks the healing of past hurts. These hurts are alleged to be responsible for present emotional, spiritual and psychological problems.

Betty Tapscott, a Southern Baptist writes, ‘Inner Healing is the healing of the inner man: the mind, the
emotions, the painful memori es, the dreams. It is the process through prayer whereby we are set free from feelings of resentment, rejection, self-pity, depression, guilt, fear, sorrow, hatred, inferi ority, condemnation, or worthlessness, etc. ‘ She quotes Romans 12:2 to justify her practice .
