About the Author:
Philip Saphir (1823-1849) was born in the Hungarian capital, Budapest.
The Jewish religion in which he was raised could not bring him peace. Through the preaching of Scottish missionaries, the seed of the gospel germinated in his heart.
Philip founded a school in Budapest. It was his desire to teach the children, but above all to introduce them to the Christ of the Scriptures.
