Rwanda : the land God forgot? : revival, genocide and hope

A personal account of missionary witness in a land which has known not only the triumphs of faith but also the terrible events of the genocide in 1994 which led to the deaths of some 800,000 people.

Ostensibly the story of the Guillebaud family, this is also the story of two nations. Meg Guillebaud (1943-..); Peter Guillebaud(1914-1996); Elisabeth Guillebaud (1915-2001).

Meg is the third generation of her family to become a missionary to Rwanda: her grandfather went out from Britain in 1925. Ostensibly the story of her family, this is really a story of two nations.

Rwanda and neighbouring Burundi wrestle with centuries-old tribal hatreds. The East African revival, in which Meg’s parents were heavily involved, was famed for repentance and reconciliation. But did it paper over deeper divisions?
